Show School Bond Meeting Wednesday evening' a meeting' was held at the Ward Hall for the purpose of talking' over the school bond issue. There was but a small crowd present as the meeting was poirly advertised. Superintendent Teterson addressed address-ed those present and laid the facts as they confront the people of the county before his audience. His talk was neither for nor against the bond issue but a straightforward statement of the conditions as they are and are to be, both should the issue carry and should it fail. Mr. Teterson stated that owing to the necessity which confronts the county as to future expenditures for school purposes should the bonds not jarry it would be necessary to increase the school tax sufficiently sufficient-ly to meet the demands and that this increase would amount to more than the increase to meet the interest and principal payments pay-ments on the bonds. Should the bond issue carry, the advance school tax, allowing for the increased in-creased valuation in the county which is estimated to take place, would be only about forty seven ents on the dollar. There is a great deal more argument ar-gument in favor of the bond issue and so far as we can see none against it that it only needs in explanation of the matter to convince one that the only thing to do is to vote in favor of the bonds, as there is nothing to lose md all to gain by so doing, and .ve believe that every voter mould support it and will, if he inderstands the proposition. |
