Show AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE. ' At a meeting of (he board of trustee of the I'tah Agricultural College held this week It was decided to organize twyear practical courses In 'Agriculture, 'Agri-culture, Mechanic Arts, Commerce, and Home Kconomlcs, these courses to be for the benefit of t he people of the stale who do not wish to take the regular college course nor the full high school work. It is the aim to make these courses of direct service to the working men and women, especially, espec-ially, of the stale of I'tah. At this meeting It was reported that the col-. i lege attendance had reached IMG, also I that the increase In advanced attend j auee was a notable feature of the last two years. lieKlliliiug with I'.lU. the college will gradually eliminate, one year at a time, the four-year high school course which Is now Include! In the college curriculum. It was also decided to Increase the number of hours of work necessary for the college degree, thus Intensifying the course of study. It was announced that the Smart Gymnasium would be completed before be-fore the (lose of the year and be la operation during the summer school The power plant at the mouth of the canyon will be ready for operation by next September. From 'this the college col-lege and other state buildings will be supplied with light and power. |
