His excellent reputation as a lawyer and wide acquaintance In the county should assure him plenty of business. Have you seen Hert Wallace' line of wall paper? He carries quite ft mock, besides about 900 samples from which one ran also make selection. We were surprised at the low prices he Is asking. We know from experience expe-rience that one can't do any better In Salt Lake City. The boys are going to give a big dance on Saturday evening after the ball game. They say they are going to get the best music they can regardless regard-less of cost. And while we think of it why can't a good orchestra be organized or-ganized In Delta? W understand there are quite a number of players on various instruments here, and all t hey need to do Is to get together. They will have plenty of employment, not only In Delta, but In neighboring towns. (Jet together, boys. Mrs. Mary Lyman and her boys have moved down from Oak City and are going Into the poultry business on an extensive scale. They have four Incubators Incu-bators with a capacity of about 500 eggs and raised at Oak City about 1500 chickens, many of which they sell at $10 per 100 w hen a day old. They are bringing several hundred down here where they have the advantage of being be-ing on the railroad and will go Into the egg business. They raise White Leghorns Leg-horns exclusively, as they believe they are the heaviest egg producers. Conditions Con-ditions for the poultry business are ideal at Delta. IN AND AROUND DELTA Tie Week's News from the Coming Metropolis Additional lock boxes have been put In at the post office and there are now 170 altogether. The new ones are combination locks which do not need keys. Rent a box so you can get your mall at any time. Delta will have a wholesale establishment estab-lishment as soon as S. W. Kccles' new establishment Is open. He Intends to make Ice cream by the wholesale, so as to supply the neighboring towns. He will also want a large amount of cream from the farmers, so those who want to sell their cream should be prepared pre-pared to keep Mr. Kccles supplied. Making his supply from pure and fresh cream, and having an excellent recipe Mr. Kccles will make a superior article and ought to have the trade. Patronize home Industry Is a good motto and ought to be applied In this cuse. A cheap shoddy outfit was In town last week getting rid of some Junk brought down from Commercial street, gait Iake. While the prices are low the goods are dear at any price. People Peo-ple can't get something for nothing, when they pay cheap prices for anything any-thing they may be sure they are getting get-ting cheap goods. They may think they are getting the genuine article but they will soon find out that It Is shoddy, liny from your home merchants mer-chants who help keep up the town ami have a reputation to keep up. They will make good anything that does not prove to be as represented, but these traveling outfits that are here today and gone tomorrow don't stay long enough for the cheap charactei of their goods to be discovered. Patronize Patron-ize your home merchants and you will get the worth of your money. --i,.-s . . We hear ouly good words for En-glneer En-glneer Roberts who Is the water master mas-ter on the west side. H. A. Nelson, who recently bought thn Hiahop homestead Hear Hinckley, has sold It and bought II. S. Stapleys place a mile east of Hinckley. Forty of It is In alfalfa. Millard county has a great attraction for California people. peo-ple. No wonder when they can get land here for $50 and M0 that Is better bet-ter than that for which they pay $250 and more in California. A. C. Sorenson of the Delta Mercantile Mercan-tile and Implement Co. reports that they have sold two carloads of farm machinery since they added that Una to their business. It will be principally oats and wheat, but he Is going to put out somo potatoes and a variety of garden stuff as an experiment. Note the new ad of the Golden Rule Store this week. If they can't find anything on the Carey act lands they usually get an Improved or unimproved farm around Hinckley, Deseret or Oasis. They can hardly fall to get good land wherever they go In Millard county. Hay continues to soar upwards and the latest quotation Is $22. The next lot of oats will probably be $2.85 or more and barley will likely get up to f ! before every one Is supplied. It la to be hoped the farmers will get somewhere some-where near that price when they want to sell this rail. Kvery one Is looking forward to big crops this harvest. The abundance of moisture this spring, the absence of dry hot winds and the excellent condition condi-tion of the soli; and" the abundance df water for Irrigation purposes ensures a rapid growth of everything as soon as steady warm weather comes. Deputy Sheriff Huntsman Informs us that the Item of two weeks ago which stated that a free county boarder board-er and another man were hurt playing ball was a mistake, In that It was not a free county boarder. The young man had served his time and was working for the deputy, and had been free for three months. He says that since he has been deputy he has not allowed his prisoners to mingle in public amusements or linger upon the streets. The only time they are not In close confinement Is when they are working under his charge. The Delta Implement and Mercantile Mercan-tile Co.
