Auguxtus Helnze, the copper cop-per magnate, by the New York state banking department was begun In the supreme court Brooklyn, Monday. It Is charged that Helnxe borrowed 23'V 000 on twenty-four notes, drawn on tbo Union bank of B.ooklyn, now a defunct Institution, and Its predecessor, predeces-sor, the Mechanics and Traders bank, depositing mining stocks as security, and that the state banking department depart-ment has been unable to realise on the security.
