Show A BUSY WEEK, The last week of February was a busy one socially in Delta. On Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon there was a basketball basket-ball game between the M. 8. Academy team and the team from Celar City. The hall was crowded, so there was hardly room for the players, a large number coming from Hinckley to see this final try out. Wm. Walker, our sporting editor, who knows ever so much more about basket ball than the editor, gave the particulars of the game last week. This victory makes the Hinckley team eligible to entry In the State High School meet, and we feel proud of our home team. There was a big dance In the evening On Thursday evening came the leap year dance given by the young ladles of the town. They did the honor of the occasion with credit to themselves and satisfaction to the boys. They didn't leave any of the boys to languish lan-guish as wall flowers, and set a good example to their male escorts. On Friday evening a number of the pupils of Mrs. Ilroaddus gave a musical musi-cal recital, which was well attended by an appreciative audience. The performers per-formers all did well and Mrs. Ilroaddus' Ilroad-dus' talk on the different selections and their authors was quite Interesting. Interest-ing. The duets by Norma Damrou and Norma Moody seemed to be the most faborably received, and of Mrs. Ilroaddus' Ilroad-dus' vocal selections, "My Curly Headed Itaby" was the most pleasing to the audience. The last fine numbers were piano duets to which the company com-pany danced. The whole entertainment entertain-ment was a great treat. On Saturday evening there was another an-other basketball game, the contestants being the Junior Hinckley team and the Meadow team. |
