Show SOUTH TRACT LITERARV MEETING. MEET-ING. Tbe regular meeting of the South Tract Literary Society was held Saturday, Sat-urday, May 17th. During the bulne session, a committee was appointed for the purpose of Investigating the matter of giving a social. A lamp was presented to the society by Mr. K. J. Law of Delta, for which a hearty vote ef thanka waa extended to him. The program waa opened by a song by the society. Ed Pearson read aa article arti-cle oa tbe cost per capita of educating children la tbe different states of tbe Union. The society paper was ably edited by William Hoff. A recitation, given by Master Ketth Samuels, was much enjoyed by the audience. Tbe extemporaneous debate oa city and country life waa decided la fsvor of country life. Tbe aext meeting will be held June 7th. |
