Show MEXICANS STONED 10 DEM IB RACE WAR IN ARIZONA IS QUEUED QUEU-ED BY SHERIFF AFTER ONE MAN IS KILLED. Determination of Americans to Run the Mexicans Out of Town Results In Free-for-AII Fight, In Which Over Fifty Men Take Part. (lobe, Arizona. One man was sfoa ed to duath and another seriously hurt In a race war early Sunday at Miami, six miles from Globe, between Americans and Mexicans. A crowd of Americans were the aggressors and three of them are In the county Jail here. A crowd of Americans determined to run the Mexicans out of town and the first they encountered were Jose Teres and M. Ortex, Tbe Mexicans were chased through the streets until they dropped with broken beads. Peres died soon afterwards and Ortesi was taken to a hospital. A free-for-all fight In which about fifty men took part followed, and not until the arrival of Frank Haynes, Hhertrf, and a posse from Globe did the rioting cease. Tbe officers were threatened by the mob, but with drawn revolvers they made their way through the mob and arrested the alleged ringleaders, J. Drown, Harry Lucy and C. Jones. Feeling atill runs high, but It Is believed be-lieved the determined attitude of the sheriff will prevent further trouble. |
