Show ACADEMY NOTES. Ctar,- Allied nd Ed a Copper, Reporters, We are glad to announce to the public that the first concert of the year will be held In the Academy Auditorium, Friday evening, Nov. 17th. This promises to be a high grade and classical concert, as the best talent of the Academy Is working bard to make It a success. The program will consist of choruses by the choir, mixed and male quartettes, quar-tettes, vocal and piano duets, recitations, recita-tions, selections from the orchestra and mandolin ami guitar club. A most pleasant social was given Saturday evening, November 4th at the Academy by the Third and Fourth year classes, at which they entertained enter-tained the Faculty and their partners. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the eve ning was spent In playing gimes. At 10:30 P, M. aupper was served, at which toasts were given by all the members of the Faculty and several of the prominent students. The Mid winter term has begun. We are pleased to see many new students stu-dents who are taking advantage of this course. We are also pleased to state that Mr. W. N. Gardner is now a member of the faculty. He will have charge of the Klocutlon and Dramatic work. The first student body meeting was held Nov. Cth. A very pleasing program pro-gram was rendered consisting of the following numbers: Song, Geneva Robinson; Rob-inson; Recitation, Kda Cropper; Male Quartette, Kngene Hilton, Arthur Humphries. Orval Stott, Thomas: Swallow; Speech on Student Patriot ; Ism by Wm N. Gardner; Piano Solo, Mrs. C. A. liroaddus; Violin Solo, Clara Stevens. Coach Gourley has arranged a series of Inter-class Basket Bali games, which will be played this week and next. The last base ball game of the sea-1 son was played last Tuesday afternoon after-noon between the Second and Third years. The Thirds were victorious by a score of 13 to 3.
