| Show Wednesday Sees o of Livestock Show Entries from Millard and Other Counties I Will Make T This is Years Year's Show Show LAW Largest of Record The final arrangements are being being be be- ing made this week in preparation for the annual Millard County County County Coun Coun- ty Junior Livestock Show which will be held in Delta next Wednesday Wednesday Wednes Wednes- day and Thursday May 23 28 and 29 Entries are the largest in the history history history his his- tory of the show with about hogs lambs and about baby beef These will be sold in the ring Thursday and are in addition to breeding stock which will be displayed there and some of it sold The officials of the show gathered gather gather- ed at the barn last week to go over the new construction and make any changes for the loading chutes I that have just been built and found that they were all ready with witha a few minor changes to be made I The new p pens ns will facilitate the handling of the the stock after it is sold and they can be loaded from I the pens into trucks or railroad cars whatever is the buyers buyer's choice Because of the many entries the ring will be moved north of the former location so that the fat beef can all aU be housed in the barn There will be six long rows of beef with about 70 beef to a row These will be at the south end and willbe will willbe willbe be lead from there to the sales ring and after being sold will be betaken betaken betaken taken outside to the east of the 1 barn where the new pens have been made Millard county is making the largest number of entries in the show in its history with Sevier county entering the largest number number num- num ber of any of the adjacent coun- coun ties ies There will be other entries from Tom Juab Beaver Iron and Washington Washington Wash- Wash ington counties The program for or the show is for registration of the animals on May 27 at which time the project books will vill be turned in for examination Wednesday morning at 10 the judging judging judg- judg ing ng will commence with the hogs first Sheep will be judged at 11 ind nd after a recess for lunch the 1 fat Cat beef will be judged at 1 Following Following Following Fol Fol- lowing the fat Cat beef will be the breeding beef and then the dairy cattle At nine o'clock that evening the stockmen's banquet will be held at the Delta high school to which all people who have made entries are invited State and county dignitaries dignitaries dignitaries dig dig- will be present as well as officials of the show and towns towns- people Farrel Smith will be master master master mas mas- ter of ceremonies The banquet will willbe willbe willbe be served by the Sugarville Relief Relief Re Re- lief Society with the entree being I baby beef Thursday May 29 is the big day I when the animals will be sold and andI I from indications there will be a number of buyers on hand for the biddings The hogs will be sold first starting at 11 a. a m. m The fat lambs will be sent Into the ring next A short recess will hold up the sale and then the grand champion beef will enter the ring Much speculation speculation speculation spec spec- is being made on the price that it will bring Spanish Fork sold their grand champion at a pound The reserve champion willbe will willbe willbe be sold next and then the choice good and commercial will follow in that order Headin Heading the show this year is Layton Dewsnup president Carl Nixon vice-president vice H Her Herman e r m man a n Munster manager Ed Edgar ar Nielson assistant manager Carl Ashby secretary Scott Chesley treasurer Marven Ogden and ang R ulon rulon Anderson Ander Ander- son F.
