F I ITo To Carola Carols Goya the artist A true artist came to Kingsbury Hall Monday I have never seen The Hall so crowded Or people so enthusiastic Sophisticated sorority women football men Applauded shouted and stamped for encore after encore Her dances lasted a few minutes Each in a different costume I ISome Some of an exotic Spanish beauty Others burlesqued The moment she appeared on the stage The audience recognized an artist Every eye watched her slightest movement Her deft body motions Brought laughter or sighs In spirit with the evening evening Her pianist was accomplished For the first time in m Kingsbury I heard a pianist applauded For playing an introduction His lightning like fingers Kept the balcony enthralled His musical introductions Were worthy of so great an artist Between dances A woman played a harp Once in accompaniment with the pianist The classical selections So absorbingly rendered Were in harmony with the evening evening eve eve- ning ning Generally a college man Dislikes to show his enthusiasm For something as feminine As Spanish dancing Monday eve was the exception Decidedly feminine Yet so interesting So humorous so beautiful College men college women Townspeople faculty Applauded cheered stamped 4 I Some with old world enthusiasm m. m Shouted v Speech speech University students have shown They can apt appreciate Beautiful artistry Lets Let's have more of the same same Goodbye I |
