Show Hinckley High School Graduation Exercises Commencement exercises for thf graduates of the Hinckley higl school were held at the ward chap el Thursday evening. The program was: Processional music, Rulon Dei Bennett; invocation, Ralph Crafts theme of talks, "The Light of th( World"; the guiding light, Chero Reeve; the crown Jewels of Amer ica, Delma Jean Webb. "Let': Bring new Glory to Old Glory,' chorus; "What Hath God Wrought,' Merodean Petersen; "Speak thi Speech, I Pray You," Tenna Jensen "A Man's an Man for A' That,1 Stanley Dewsnup; "Country Gard en," double mixed trio; class hist ory, Helen Webb; Presentation o class, Principal Joe Buchanan, re marks and presentation of diplom as, E. J. Eliason; diplomas accapt ance speech, Dee Wright; remark and presentation of scholarships Supt. A. M. Maugham. Edith B. Petersen award given ti Delma Jean Webb as the outstand ing girl of the senior class. This a ward, which was a locket, wa given by N. L. Petersen in memor of his wife and was awarded b; his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Jen sen; remarks, Board of Educatioi Member Melville; "God Bless Ou Native Land," mixed chorus; bene diction, Melvin Robins. Diplomas were presented t graduates Geniel Bennett, LaRu Bennett, Lucille Cahoon, Irvii Chaffin, Belle Damron, Stanle; Dewsnup, Laura Hansen, Tenn Jensen, Donna Rae Judd, Ed Manis Merodean Petersen, Cherol Reeve Manda Lee Stevens, Reed Stewart Carol Swenson, Karl Swenson, Deal Talbot, Gayle Taylor. Melvin Warn er, "Delma Jean Webb, Hele: Webb, Lowell Wood, Earl Woodal Ed Woodbury and Dee Wright. A commencement dance wa held after the exercises. Denotes honor student. Scholarships were given the hon or students. The graduates wore for the firs time in the history of the schoo "caps and gowns." The girls wor white and the boys maroon. Th girls wore gardenia corsages. Th entire program was colorful as we as impressive. |
