Show Animals Reported in Top Condition, Awaiting Sale The 11th annual Millard County Junior Livestock Show commenced this morning, May 24, and will end Friday night, May 25, with 135 head of fat beef, 150 hogs, a carload car-load of lambs, and a number of bulls entered for showing and sale. Dairy stock, Hereford breeding stock and sheep will be also be shown in their respective classes, but much of it will not be sold. Judging will take place on Thursday Thurs-day with Major Henderson judging the beef. Director A. A. Owens of the USAC Extension Service wil be the judge of sheep and dairy divisions. divi-sions. Governor Maw is unable to attend this year and Commissioner Welling will be the guest speaker. Mark S. Johnson, Millard County Commissioner will be the master of ceremonies. Friday will be the day of the sale which will start at 10:30 a.m. Hogs will be sold first with lambs, 1 fat beef and breeding bulls in succession. suc-cession. Col. Adams and son of Salt Lake City will be the auctioneers. Last year slightly over $15,000 was realized from the sales, and this year it is expected that total sales will top that sum. The animals will be in prime condition con-dition at the time of the sale as the boys and girls have joined community clubs in fitting their animals this year and have had extensive training and teaching in preparing their animals. The local clubs have held "pre-stock show shows" rehearsing regular stock show procedure so that the animals ani-mals will be well trained and will present their best appearance. The permanent site of the show has not been prepared, due to lack of building "material, so the show will be presented again at the San-ford San-ford Stockyards in Delta.
