Show World War II Veterans Take High Positions The American Legion of District number 7 held their convention in Delta Friday night, Oct. 11, in the Delta high school, and held installation instal-lation of new officers for the Arthur Arth-ur L. Cahoon Post and the women's wo-men's auxiliary. The officers Installed Instal-led were Ward Spendlove, commander; comman-der; Ward Killpack, adjutant; Owen Ow-en Gardner, 1st vice commander; Garth Cahoon, Second vice commander; com-mander; Harold Morris, chaplin; , George Cahoon, service officer, and ' Oi Johnson, sergeant at arms. In the women's auxiliary the new officers of-ficers are Mrs. Belva Morris, president, presi-dent, Mrs. Dorothy Killpack, first vice president, and Mrs. Angie Cahoon, Ca-hoon, second vice president. There was a good representation present from other posts in the district, dis-trict, including the District Commander, Com-mander, A. C. Hatch, from -Paro-wan, and Wells Starley, commander command-er of the Fillmore Post. Officials from state headquarters who were here were State Commander King Clawson, and his vice commanders, command-ers, Mr. Christensen and Mr. Springer, Spring-er, Adjutant A. . H. Horsley, and Harry Hickman, .national executive committemen for Utah. The women's auxiliary were represented rep-resented by the presidents from Milford, Cedar City and Hurricane, the district president, Mrs. Esplin, from Cedar City, and the district secretary, and Mrs. McMurrin, from Salt Lake City, state president, and the state secretary. |
