Show - Oak City - Mae H. Shipley At 1 he services Sunday evening the program was given by Elder Eliason and Carl Ash by as speakers speak-ers from, the High Council. Elder Sorenson sang two numbers accompanied ac-companied by Eugene Holman. Mr. Holman also played a piano selection, it, was a good program and enjoyed by all. Miss Merlene Lovell and some girl friends from St. George, spent the weekend in Oak City. Miss Edith Anderson was home from Salt Lake this week. Miss Anita Harvey from Salt Lake was a guest of Dean Anderson Saturday Satur-day and Sunday at his home. A family reunion was held by 34 members of John Nielson's family fam-ily at the home of Ivan Shipley. Mr. Nielson's son, Gale, leaves for the mission home October 16. Elder Elwood Lovell was home this week from the mission home in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Paice and Phyllis and Shirley Paice from Beaver were in Oak City Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Macel Anderson had her mother and husband visit from Richfield last week. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell and son, Neil, went to Salt Lake Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. Lovell will remain in Salt Lake a few days. Neil will take treatments again at the hospital. hos-pital. Miss LaMae Finlinson was a visitor vis-itor from Cedar college Saturday and Sunday. Also Paul Finlinson visited his parents and relatives, he is attending school at the BYU this year. Friday evening a sock and hanky han-ky party was held at the hall for Gale Nielson. Fun was had by all. Games were played, and refreshments refresh-ments served. About forty-six attended. at-tended. Gale received many useful use-ful gifts for his Samoan mission. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson and children spent a few days in Oak City. They are from Salt Lake. Other visitors seen in Oak City were Mrs. Thelma Howes and her children from Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Roper from Provo. A missionary dance and program was held Saturday evening in hon- or of Elder Gale Nielson. A large crowd attended. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Anderson and family from Pleasant Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Melville and family from Salt Lake. |
