Show Deserel LUCILLE SAMPSON Mrs... Zada Devvsnup is leaving I We'dnesday morning for a two-weeks two-weeks vacation in New Mexico. She will be accompanied by her niece, Mrs. Lottie Black of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Dan McDonald are spending a few davs in Salt Lake City. This group met Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dew-snup Dew-snup to celebrate the Dewsnups' birthdays: Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wood, from Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Wood, Levan. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wood and daughter, daugh-ter, Norma, and sons, Carl and Bill from Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wood and Mrs. Hazel Harmon of Holden; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood of Delta; and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Bennett, Deseret. Mr. and Mrs. La Mont Bennett l and family from Cedar City spent Wednesday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. El'iason spent a few days in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Oneta Moffit and children from Salt Lake City visited over the weekend at the home of Jack Webb. ..- - Mr. and Mrs. Ray Moody and children, Michael and Ray Lynn, from Salt Lake City spent Saturday Satur-day and Sunday with Mrs. Effie Moody and Norma. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace are the proud parents of a baby boy, born Friday morning at the Delta hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Parsons and family from Sigurd, spent Sunday With Mr. and Mrs. Marion Black. Vernal Johnson and friends of) Tooele came down for the opening open-ing of the duck hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardy spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday Satur-day in Salt Lake City where Mrs. Hardy attended teachers' institute. Steven Rowley, small, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Rowley, had a birthday party Saturday.. He was six years old. Linda Phillips, small daughter of Mrs. Edith Phillips, had her birthday birth-day party Thursday. She was five years old. Mrs. Lola Bishop and son and daughter from Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dee Bennett and daughter -from Provo, visited over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Bennett. Sacrament meeting Sunday evening eve-ning was the anniversary of the founding of the Brigham Young University, seventy-five years ago on October 15. First talk was given by Bishop Ormus L. Dutson. A talk by Carole Cropper; song by Melba Jacobson; talk by Mrs. Myrtle Western, featured the program. Waldo Black and his mother, Mrs. Inga Black, spent a few days in Salt Lake City, where Waldo received medical attention on his arm. His arm was broken on the wrist from cranking a tractor. Mrs. Edna Torrens and family and Mrs. Zada Dewsnup spent the weekend in Provo. Mrs.' Esta Webb Stewart , of Los Angeles was a visitor during the week at the home of Mrs. Effie Moody. Mrs. Stewart was born and raised in Deseret and lived here until her marriage. She lived here in the early days of Deseret. The Deseret Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. Luella Western West-ern ' Thursday evening, Oct. 12, with Mrs. Bessie Webb and Mrs. Luella Western as hostesses. The evening was spent in painting weeds, under the direction of Mrs. Beth Anderson of Hinckley. Twenty five, ladies were present and all were delighted to see a common old weed turned into a thing of beauty. Stanley and Sheldon Baker from Salt Lake City spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Baker, and 'went duck hunting. Sharon and Doris Juestesen from Delta, spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bennett. |
