But they have many descendants descend-ants locally, children, grandchild-ren, grandchild-ren, and great-grandchildren, so start tracing resemblances. . Deep from the family archives came this old time picture, poss-lbly poss-lbly the oldest up to date. For 'he left-hand lad will be 77 years 0'd in Sept., and this picture was taken when he may have been 10 or 12 years old. Well-dressed young fellows, weren't they, in 'ng trousers, high pockets, and clutching their Sunday hats. . This picture was taken far away "J Utah, where these were the oldest children in a large family. Hie two older brothers were grown tnarried, and with families, when 'he left-hand brother moved to his country in 1909, and in 1911, the older brother followed. As early Delta history was made they helped make it. They could talk, and act, and they gave free ly of their time and abilities to further many civic accomplish -ments. Particular achievements can't be mentioned here, for the clues would be a dead give-away, and so you are referred to . early town history, to locate these two. They could and did scare the crizzard out of hapless opponents, and waged exhilarationg warfare to achieve their purposes for the public good. Any project for the growth and development of this community had their unlimited support. That older brother spoke on many a Fourth of July program and the left-hand brother was heard in early town board meetings, meet-ings, chamber of commerce, and water discussions. As a boy, the one at the left was thrown from a horse, and 2 rib bones were broken. Being far from a doctor, he let Nature take its course, and in time two rib bones worked out, through his side But nothing ever ailed his backbone, back-bone, he has plenty of it. When you find out who, besides Adam, is shy a rib or two, you'll have your answer for today. |
