Show Here's Mow Vossr Hollars Figlit Cancer A breakdown on how Cancer money is spent was made this week by state headquarters, Utah Division, .American Cancer Society. Each dollar of your contributions is split six ways. . From each 100 cents, 35 cents are spent for medical service; 25 cents for research; public education, educa-tion, 22 cents; administration, 8 cents, fund raising, 6 cents, and reserve, 4 cents. Under medical service, the largest larg-est portion, come assistance to cancer patients, free cancer detection de-tection centers, dressings, loan of sick room equipments and help for families of victims. Research is being be-ing carried on constantly, throughout through-out the nation, such as that at the University of Utah who received research re-search grants from the American Cancer Society. The campaign for public education, educa-tion, advising them of the importance import-ance of early detection of symptoms symp-toms of cancer and what to do then, is being carried on through articles in leading magazines, educational ed-ucational films, radio, use of the press and public meetings. |
