marshal be and the same are hereby created a board of health for manti mantl city whose duty shall be to adopt euch such measures and means and to execute the same as an will 7 in their judgment arrest and prevent the introduction and spread ot of all or any malignant infectious or contagious contag loue dis leases eases and for this all that portion of country embraced within the corporate limits of manti mantl city Is I 1 hereby declared to be subject to quarantine and sanitary regulations 1 SEC 2 the quarantine physician before entering upon hie his duties shall take and to an oath and give a leond ond to the city in the penal sum of five hundred lur dred dollars conditioned for the faithful ul performance of his baties SEC 3 rhe board of health shall ha have e power and authority to order quarantined iny a y house lot block street or square ny portion or the whole of tha the city and eany any person or family N hen in their judgment 4 ent the welfare elfare of the inhabitants of the eity ty require such and shall ix ercile a general supervision over the health of the city to prevent tho the introduction of malignant infectious or con alous disease and to arrest shall take down remove or destroy detroy any quarantine antine flag or card from rom an infected premises or who shall conceal or unlawfully deal out medicines for the purpose of concealment of any contagious or infectious dis ease shall be liable to fine in any sum lose less than one hundred dollars or imprisonment not exceeding anty nine daye days or both such fine flue and imprisonment SEC 11 it it shall come to the knowledge of the board of health that an sm cor ral stable or outbuildings which render the air and water unwholesome the board shall have power to require ach changes chanles alterations or improvements as ahall hall be necessary for the abatement or remedy thereof and in case of noncom non com aliance with such request tho the board 0 of health may order such necessary changes alterations or improvements at the expense of the party upon whom such re requisition jul la is made SEC 12 0 iso o animal infected with any contagious disease shall be brought or ept within i the limits of this city except by permission of the hoard board of health 1 no animal having the glanders or farcy shall be kept used or retained or be permitted within N the said limit and if an any animal so affected shall be found within the said limits the board of health maa order the owner thereof to destroy said animal and it if said owner shall till vill to destroy said animal as ordered by the board of health they may cause said maid animal to bo be destroyed at the expense cf ef the said bald owner thereof SEC 13 immediately alter after the termination of a case of contagious or infectious disease convalescence or death of the person afflicted it shall bethe be the duty of the atten attending dlag physician or in case of no regular physician having been in to attendance then of the city physician to order all articles of bedding clothing furniture or other effects of the convalescent or deceased person anthems aa the case maybe may be to be properly disinfected by the uie SEC 14 funerals of persons who have died of any contagious or infectious diseases shall be strictly private no one being admitted to the presence of the body except those who have bare already been exposed and the clergyman whose duty calls him to such places SEC 15 the length of time during which isolation should be maintained is in an important question children having been afflicted with diphtheria should not bo be admitted readmitted re to school nor any places of amusement or worship in less than 40 days from the date of the onset of the dia disease SEC IG 18 that the terms board
