Show H' TAX' EXEMPTIONS H In an editorial on tax exemptions in Hj: the Dearborn Independent, employes of H the federal government were mentioned H with state, county and municipal officials H and employes as enjoying what seems Hi like an unfair exemption from income H taxes. A Philadelphia reader calls the H Independent's attention to the slip and H protests against the injustice of "the dis- H crimination against federal government H employees." He instances a Register of H .Wills in his city who enjoys an average j income of $100,000 yearly from fees and H who does not pay a cent of income taxes, H while the anything but overpaid United H States government employes in highly H important technical services have to pay H on the same basis as other citizens. H -The whole thing is inequitable and calls H for prompt correction. All salaries or j none should be called upon to bear equal H shares of the common burden.
