Show ROAD BOND ISSUE DISCUSSED A) MEETING The proposed road bond Issue for Cache county was the all Important topic for discussion at the regular meeting of the Chamber of Commerco on Thursday evening. Thero was a ' good i' 'presentation and those pros-1 ent wero very free to enter Into tho discussion. Prof. Wui. Peterson tnado a clear cut statement of the proposed bond lssuo and was ablo to answer very satisfactorily nil tho questions asked about the bond and tho road building program. It was unanimously decided that the Chamber Cham-ber favor tho bond for roads and that tho public be made acquainted as far as possible with tho facts and arguments for the bond. A statement ot tho facts and arguments ar-guments for the bond will nppear in a later Issue. The membership was not prepat-jed prepat-jed to decide on assuming the responsibility respon-sibility of the dale of COO ?10 season tickets, good for all the ' athletic events of tho Agricultural College for the seakon ot 1921-22. This arrange? m on t was worked out by the athletic council of the college and the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerco committee and n accepted will bring tho annual Thanks giving day tootball game between the U. of L. and tho U. A. C. to Logan this year. Otherwise the game will go to Salt Lake City. The special committee will make a more extensive exten-sive canvass and n.scoitaln the sentiment senti-ment of the business houses as to the proposition. It will be definitely decided de-cided at (ho next meeting. of tho Chamber In June. Invitations by Dr. E. G. Peterson of tho Agricultural College and Supt. Henry Peterson of tho city schools inviting in-viting tho momberuhip to attend the commencement exercises ot tho college col-lege May 29 and 30th, and the exercises ex-ercises of the Logan High School on Friday, May 27th, wero presented and accepted'. This will be the first grad-untlng grad-untlng class of the Logan High School and will number about sixty. Some very splendid exercises will be carried out nt both Institutions and the membership Is asked to attend. It was announced that tiic Chamber Cham-ber would bid for tho next annual state convention of the American Legion Le-gion to be held nt Logan. Beforo sending delegates to attend tho Parle to Park Highway convention conven-tion to bo held at Salt Lake City on . Juno 16 and 17, moro Information will be secured from tho Chamber of Commerce of Salt Lake City and Og-den. Og-den. Practically all Utah, except tho ZIon national park, nearly all of Idaho Ida-ho and Nevada are left completely out of this route, and wo therefore have no Interest In it. One of tho best features of the meeting wa3 the splendid address on the significant of Memorial day given giv-en by Rev. Harris Plllsbury. His talk was Inspirational and much appreciated. |
