Show I. LOGAN S VICTORS I IK THE BASKET I BALLjAME B The Logan basketball team iron tlio game last night at the U. A. C. W gymnasium by the score of G6 to 27. j B Wo are sorry that we arc unable H to glvo our readers a brief of the I tamo, but as tho local high school H did not furnish us with tickets to i the game, we did not attend. Tho ( a ndvnnco Bale was heavy for tho gara Eg nnd oven If we bad the money there ' B was no chance for us to get tickets. ft It Is customary always lor the press B to be furnished with complimentary tickets to events of this kind, but tho i B present management of tho high R school teems to bo such that all such B courtesies arc not considered of any I H value. In order not to be mlsunder- H stood wo called tho high school and M asked them If any press tickets were g available. Tho amiable lady at tho m other end of tho phono politely In- Eg formed us that the management had H .Mild that "he did not know whether m or not there were any press tickets. B but If there were they could be had nt the door." W. just as politely told , B this gentle voice to Inform tho man- B agement that Tho Republican wpuld B cut no tickets at tho door, that we B were not beggars, and that If we B rould not be furnished with tho ( or- B til nary courtesies that are usually B conceded to newspapers, wo did not care to bo provided for at all. 3 . Wo aro sorry not to bo able to W "9 touch up the fine points In the game. There has never been a time In tho history of Logan when a basketball team was more worthy of all the Ink that can bo spilled on them, but tt frequently happens that the vory best tn tho land Is handicapped through Hhort sighted management. We have t constantly and consistently support- 1 ' ed tho high school and all other xchools. When the management has .. appealed to us to support special tax elections, bond Issues, laws for regulation reg-ulation nnd advancement of school affairs, wo have given our time, space I and abilities gratltiously to promote !i the cause This course wo propose j to continue Out let us hope that i i tho higher ups will install such man- ' J ngement as will give heed to tho or- ,1 dinary courtesies of tho day, or be J frank' and say for every line of Ink that is spilled In our favor In a notrs paper wo will pay for It. Tho latter would bo a money maker for the ' newspaper. |
