The Utah Condensed Milk company offered $25 for the cow producing the most butter fat during two days of the fair and the Borden Condensed Milk company offered of-fered $25 for tho cow prduclng tho most mil kdlrlng two days of the fair. This year the cows did lot produce as they have done other years because ot the sudden cold weather at the fair and most ot tho cows had been producing for several months. Mynlon Nethcrland DcKol, o fine Hplsteln cow owned by the Sunny-mead Sunny-mead Farm In chargo ot Mr. A. F. Cardon, won both' prizes this year. This cow produced 99.4 pounds of milk and 3.30 pounds of butter fat. Suo has produced as much as SO pounds of milk In one day but as stated sho has been producing milk for several months and was not at her beat during tho fair. Alpha Mercedes, Mer-cedes, another fine Holsteln owned by the samo farm, was a closo second sec-ond to Mynlon. Alpha produced 97.2 pounds of milk and 2.99 pounds butter fat. Ruplon Mcrrll and Geo. L, Smith of the North Cacho High School had full chargo ot te milk contest. They mado very careful tests and wcro accurato in their results. Tho fair management appreciates tho work ot these students and tho cooperation coopera-tion from the schools. Mr. Kcarl Is tho director ot tho Junior Farm Bureau of tho county and an supervisor ot tho educational department depart-ment of the Cacho Valley fair, his work was well dono and much ap preciated by tho omcors of tho fair. I Mr. Kcarl outlined a number ot projects pro-jects and the members ot tho bureau closed their competition at the fair where their projects were Judged. In the calf project, Delbert Lamb of Hyde Park won first prlxe (a trip to the state fair). May Israelsen ot Hyrum won second prize ($7.) Orson Perkes of Hyde Park won, third prize (15.00), and Russel Shaffer of Mlll-vllle Mlll-vllle won fourth prize ($3.00.) In tho pig project Windsor Wind-burg, Wind-burg, Millvllle, won first prize, Dean Merrill of North Logan, second, and Legrande Stirland, Providence, won third prize. In the potato project Archie Lott of Trenton won first prlzo (a two day trip to tho stato fair,) Vernal Sea-raons Sea-raons of Hyde Park won second prlzo, Chas. B. Harris of Logan won third jrizo and Louis Mattlson of Logan won fourth prize. Tho expense of tho first prio of tho potato project Is paid by tho Cacho Valley Commission Commis-sion company of Logan and Mr. Willis Wil-lis Smith of Smlthtleld. In tho sugar beet project Russell Shaffer of Mlllvlllo won tho first prlzo (d two day trip to tho state fair), Samuel Shaffer of Mlllvlllo won second prlzo, Josoph Haslam of Lewlston won third prize and Stan-loy Stan-loy Orlltln or Newton won fourth prize. The expense of tho first prlzo In tho sugar beet project Is paid by tho Amalgamated Sugar company.
