Show FOREST SERVICE MEASURE SNOW HERE Tho Foreost Service again measured measur-ed tho snow in Logan Canyon on April Ap-ril 1. Any misgivings which Cache valley people bad earlier in the season sea-son as to the snowfall havo been disproved dis-proved b'y tho storms or tho past month. Supervisor Shcpard reports that the present depth or snow between be-tween eight nhd nine thousand elevation ele-vation ranges from 4 12 to C 1-2 feet, Tho average depth of Bnow at tho three elevation js sixteen Inches more than tho avorago depth at theso same stations on April 1 for tho past, flvo years. Tho snow Is drifted, well packed and In practically Ideal condition con-dition for lato melting. Supervisor Shepard calls attention to the fact that there Is at least twice as much snow at the lower elevations as there was a year ago. Tho Indications are that wo will havo high water this ear, and ir tho weather should turn warm at the present time, ths high water would como early. Except ror tho possibility of an unprecedented drought later in tho year, there It every promise of a satisfactory season sea-son &a far as water supply Is concerned. |
