Our boys 'havo not played ball stneo they won tho county championship a fow years ago. The Hydo Park brasB band played part I ot the day In Smlthfleld, nnd part In '.wwlston.. Tho farmers are all very busy from day light till dark, and most ovory man is trying to hlro his neighbors neigh-bors to nsslst him. The sugar beets are growing rapidly, but some aro needing water. Most of tho dry farm grain will bo a failure. The hay crop Is a god one, but the weavll Is doing considerable damage In somo fields. Thero aro somo very flno gardens hero and potatoes, poaB, turnips, and many other vegetables aro now In uso. The largo hay barns of J. W. D. Hurren and Reuben A. Perkes aro nearly completed. Arthur Petersen Is putting on an addition to his house. The walls of our new meeting houso are going up quite rapidly. Last Sunday services wero conducted con-ducted by tho Seventies quorum. Prayer was offered by W. O. Roeso nnd Wra, A. Seamons spoke upon tho subject of baptism. The singing for tho services was funlshed by F. T. Dallam, R. S. McQuerrlo. Last Friday afternoon, Miss Thel-ma Thel-ma Hancoy, tho nine-year-old daughter daugh-ter of your correspondent, was severely se-verely bitten by a vicious dog. There aro four wounds on tho left forearm, whero tho teeth of tho dog punctured tho flesh. Dr. Hayward has been dally dressing the wounds and thinks they aro healing nicely.
