Show SOLDIER WRITES FROM NAVAL TRAINING GAMP Logan ltoy Is Enjoying Hknselt In tho Service of Uncle. Sam. Postmaster J. M. Blair has just received a communication from L. E. Peterson of this city, who recently enlisted In the navy and 1h now at San Francisco, which Is interesting to his people at homo. It reads as follows: U. S. Naval Training Station, San Francisco, Cat., Aug. 12, 1917. Mr. J. M. Blair, Logan Utah. Dear Sir: It Is Sunday today, and I have nothing to do, so I am writing a line or two to let you know how I am getting along. I like the navy fine, except when they send mo to the hospital. hos-pital. They tried to make me think I had the measles, but I did not, so they let me out of tho hospital. hos-pital. Most peoplo aro mistaken when they say a man Is not treated treat-ed good in the army or navy. I do not know anything about tho army, but I do know they treat you alright In the navy. They always give a man all he can eat, but I will say It Is not any better than I got at homo. They give-, everyone plenty of clothes, also. I saw a piece In tho papor last night, that the Kaiser Bald peace was near at hand. I guess he is getting a little afraid. It is about time ho was. Well, I cannot think of anything any-thing else to tell you, so I will close for this time. I will wrlto again at some other time. Yours sincerely, L. E. PETERSON. |
