"It Is unnecessary at thlB tlmo to B rehearse tho various stops which I hnvo led up to this action of your 1 council of advlco. Your affiliation jffi with tho various seditious organlza- tions, tho shame and ombarrassment H experienced by tho flock committed II to your Episcopal caro through por-jgJL por-jgJL slstont promulgation of unpatriotic vj doctrines, your steadfast refusal to fejtJ heed tho advlco and romonstrancos of your brother bishops and your clergy and laity In this matter and the Injurious In-jurious consequences of your course upon tho life of the church in this state, as well as elsewhere, have convinced your council of advlco that your usefulness as bishop of the church in Utah Is at an end. "The council Is further convinced that even though tho war in which your country Is now engaged should be brought to an Immediate conclusion con-clusion or through your attitude should be reversed you would bo unable un-able to regain the respect and confidence confi-dence of loyal Americans, not only within tho church but outside, without with-out which no bishop can bo acceptable accepta-ble or successful In tho prosecution of his work." St. Paul's Vestry Acta. Shortly after the council of advice's ad-vice's action which gained in power pow-er and significance from the fact that its six members had been chosen by Bishop Jones as his closest advisers ad-visers In church matters, had been Initiated, tho vestry of St. Paul's acted. "Tho board declared that the Right Rev. Paul Jones, by his unpatriotic, not to say seditious, utterances and by his falluro to manifest the slightest slight-est sympathy with the world struggle strug-gle for tho preservation of human liberty," resolutions read, "has forfeited for-feited their confidence and the confidence con-fidence of their parish In him as chief pastor of tho church In this stato and, in their bellof, should resign his position as bishop of Utah." ' St. Mork'n Even More Forceful. Tho sentiments of tho St. Mark's vestry wero ever more forcefully expressed. ex-pressed. Tho questional directed by Dish-op Dish-op Jones yesterday apparently wa3 Intended to sound tho Bentlment of tho Utah dloceso.
