Show 100,000 SPIES NOW IN COUNTRY, WASHINGTON, Feb.' 21. There arc 100,000 spies in this country, Senator Sen-ator Overman of North Carolina, speaking for the administration, told the senate today, in urging prompt passage of the spy and conspiracy measures wgRcstcd by the depart-: depart-: incut of iustice. He said the department of justice, ever since the outbreak of the European Eu-ropean war, had been unable to cope effectively with conspiracies because of inadequate legislation.
