Kathlyn Williams, one of the most popular stars on the screen, makes her debut as a Morosco player and Thomas Holding, who co-stars with her, appears for the first tlmo under the bannor of that producing company. In tho case of Miss Williams, Wil-liams, tho picture represents her first appearanco on tho Paramount program but Mr. Holding has been identified with Famous Players productions pro-ductions ever since ho appeared In support of Paulino Frederick In an adaptation of Hall Calne's, "Tho Eternal City." Other Important members of tho cast are Herbert Standing, Wyndham Standing, Helen Eddy, Jano HIckley and Don Bailey. "Redeeming Love" Is a powerful drama relating tho story of a country coun-try girl whoso beauty fascinates a . gambler who comes to her town to jf rest. She falls In lovo with him and IJ finally goes to tho city wrero she H plunges Into tho life of a gambler K and becomes so Imbued with tho $ spirit of tho gamesters that tho got IS ting of money becomes her only re-1 re-1 ligion In life. Before sho had left her home, she Of had been impressed by tho porson-H porson-H nllty of John Bancroft, a young mln- !Ister. While Naomi Is perfecting herseU in tho art of gambling, Bancroft Ban-croft Is forging ahead In his chosen field and Is becoming famous. Ho finally comes to tho city and wages a great campaign against gambling in which ho finds himself pitted against Naomi, who has" won his lovo despite the fact that her mode of life Is so appalling to him. In tho double conflict between the growing lovo of these two and their efforts to reconcile themselves to the domination dom-ination of that lovo over tho natural antipathy which each feels for the other as a representative of tho op-p5slte op-p5slte codo of morals, there Is om-modled om-modled a big dramatic story. Thp tale Is not without its thrills for there Is one big scone in which a largo touring car goes hurtling over a cliff Into tho sea, carrying with It Its passengers. This Is ono of tho most romarkablo accident scenes which has been produced on tho screen and clearly shows that tho big touring car, which was used for tho purpose, was actually sent over tho cliff. Though there havo been many elaborato settings In Morosco photoplays photo-plays of tho past, tho scones showing i Naomi's gaming palaco will bo tho If most sumptuous ever built by that li company. It is of mottled marblo R with an olaborato stairway and Is K lavishly decorated with mural panels, I statuary and hangings, much nftor a tho manner of tho celebrated casino B at Monto Carlo. R This picture runs again this after- fi noon and evening. 15 |
