Show Convert War Savings Stamps Into W. S. Certificates San Francisco., July 7. -The War Loan organisation of the Twelfth Federal Reserve district has Just been advised that hereafter war savings sav-ings stamps may be converted Into Savings certificates of $100 and 11,000 denominations according ta a new plan of the savings dlvutou o! the U. S. Treasury department to affoid greater conveniences in han-dllng han-dllng Wa Savings recurlttes. The development of the War Savings Sav-ings idea is one that has been urged for sometime in orddr to attract larger larg-er investments. The holder of n sufficient number of Thrift Stamps may now exchange them for a 5 War Savings stamp and in turn the holder of twenty of, the $5 War Sav Ings Stamps 'may convert them into a $100 savings certificate or the holder of two hundred of the JS stamps may turn them in for a ?tl'00 certificate. Conversion may bo made at nil first nnd second class postofllces and at all banks and trust companies that have qualified as agents of the second class. The treasury savings certificates aro to be issued in rcg littered form and will bear the naiurs of the owners. They will yield four I per cent Interest compounded quarterly quar-terly as do the war savings stamps. Tho limit of the Individual Investment Invest-ment still remains at $1000. The new treasury savings certificates certifi-cates should prove particularly attractive at-tractive for the Investment of the funds of fraternal societies, labor unions and other civic, social and religious rel-igious organizations because the interest in-terest is added to the principal automatically au-tomatically each quarter, tho entire amount being payable at maturity. |
