Show NOTRH CACHE HIGH SCHOOL NEWS NOTES ' At assembly, last Monday, Senator J. V. Punk, gave a very excellent talk In which he showed quite clearly how 'each student could play hie part of tfie game In the great world conflict con-flict that is now going on in Europe. Other numbers on the program were a solo by Bessie Smith and a solo by Elisabeth Roskelley. ' Principal C. H. Anderson and Instructors In-structors have been busy recently working over some phases of the course of study with a view of adjusting adjust-ing the vocational work to meet the requirements of the Smtth-Hughea Vocational Act, recently passed by Congress. A Francis KIrkham, State Vocational Vocation-al Director, who Is In charge of the application of Smlth-I'ushPt Act In Utah, was. at the high sclnal last week going over the requirements of the Aet with Trlnclpal Anderson. Many of the students are doing their-best to help defend liberty by buying Thrift Stamps. The Junior Class now leads the rest of the school In the average amount per student spent for Thrift Stamps and the Senior Se-nior .CJass leads In the percentage of members of ithe class who have purchased pur-chased stamps. The North Cache basketball team surprised their most ardent supporters, support-ers, lasf "Saturday night, by defeating defeat-ing Box Elder to the tune of 26 to 24. From the first toss of the ball both;, teams seemed to be evenly matched and it waa nobody's game - ----- until tho final whistle blew. It was one of the fastest games ever played on the Richmond floor. Those playing play-ing for North Cache were Talbot H. Waddoups, Van Noy, Skldmore and Balr. Skldmore and Waddoups were the stars of the evening. Funeral services were held Wednesday Wed-nesday at 1 o'clock In the College ward meeting house over the remains re-mains of Leland Melvln, the llttlo son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hanson and the only grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Hanson. The want choir furnished the music. Consoling I remarks were offered by Heber j Oreen, H. C. Peterson, Alvln Mc- a Bride, Joseph Oreen and Bishop J. , J.
