All furloughs granted M wlli be recalled and the men ordered B to their organizations when they have B received preparatory ordeis for duty - overseas. BB Furloughs granted for farm work H will be without pay and allowances, H except that enough pay will be re- H Ulned In each case to meet allot- BB tnents In force on the day ot the or- H der, war risk, Insurance, and pledg- BJ eg on Liberty bonds. H For specially qualified experts In H agriculture furloughs may be grant- H ed by the Secretary of War upon ap- H plication by the Secretary of Agrl- BBJ- culture providing such furloughs are BBBB voluntarily accepted by the persons tor whom application Is made. Individual applications for furloughs fur-loughs submitted by relatives wilt be on a form to be furnished by local draft boards. Two sections arc to be made out and presented to the local board, which will complete theform. If the furlough Is granted the application ap-plication will be tiled by the commanding com-manding officer and a certificate furnished the soldier. If not granted, grant-ed, the application will be returned with reasons for disapproval. If the soldier Initiated the application applica-tion he will give the name of the person for whom he desires to work, from whom will be ascertained the need for farm service. Furloughs may be granted en bloc to men who are willing to accept them, upon requests of farmers,' when time consumed In traveling from the post to the place of labor will not exceed 24 hours. In making mak-ing these applications farmers will uso a form ot the Provost Marshal General's office, also going to the local board. |
