Show Figures And Camouflage - . Some time ago we promised some figures that would "make the Democrats sit up and take notice."' We knew what we were talking about and surely enough those f ig- urea disturbed the foul mouthed editorial scribe of The - Journal. He did, not attempt to- controvert the figures', however, simply replied that while "it is an aphorism that figures cannot lie, the fact remains that.all liars can figure, ariticipating-the conclusion that the figures we submitted were from one of the latter class. Of course no sensible reader of The Journal or this paper will be caught on such a "pin hook" as the figures speak for themselves. It is true they came from a good Democrat-icjsource, Democrat-icjsource, which does not in the least detract from their rejiability. The figures were taken from The North American Review, as quoted by the renowned George Harvey, and found in his editorial in the July, 1918, number, num-ber, on page five. George Harvey is the man who discovered dis-covered Woodrow Wilson, according to good Democratic doctrine, and made him the Democratic candidate. Further, Furth-er, the figures compiled by Mr. Harvey were taken from the Congressional Record which vouehes for their veracity. vera-city. Undar such conditions it can be plainly seen why the Journal cannot combat them, therefore true to-tradi-tition, as the perrenial representative of the filth trench, its editor deals out its stock in trade. |
