Show Million Dollar Factory Opens lo Utah Great Sugar Plant at Spanish Fork Dedicated; Thousands Are Present Spanish Fork, Sept. 4. Thrco thousand poeplc gathered at tho city pavilion and In tho city square hero this morning to begin tho two days celebration In honor of the completion comple-tion of tho million dollar BUgar factory fac-tory by tho Utah-Idaho Sugar Company. Com-pany. Tho festivities began with n children's chil-dren's parado In which about 500 little lit-tle ones participated. Tho children were all In costumo and some unique Ideas wero carried out. Many of the costumes wero exceptionally well gotten up, but only a fow prizes wore awarded. The prize for the best decorated dec-orated baby carriage was won by Rhea Andrus. The second prize to the carriage and group of children representing the finding of Moses. Prizes for tho bost represented characters In tho parado wero awarded award-ed to Alton Hughes and Hazel Wost, representing Undo Sam and Utah, and to James Roblnscn and Elizabeth Manson, ns Hindus. Tho third character char-acter prlzo was won by Frlodnn and Anna Jacobscn as Chinamen. Tho Ladles Military Rand of Eph-rulm Eph-rulm furnished music during the parado par-ado as did tho Spanish Fork Commercial Com-mercial Club band. Main street was gaily decorated and all tho business houses ot tho town wcro closed. Tho city pavilion wns crowded to Its ulandlng capacity for tho program and moro than a thousand people wore unable to gain admission. |
