Before tho fall Salt Lako will have the only bag manufacturing plant between Omaha nnd Snn Frnnclsro with nn nnnual output of 30,000,000 sacks, according to plans' of C. W. Nlbloy, who is in churgu of the promotion of tho fac-toiy. fac-toiy. Construction of tho plnnt, which Is estimated will cost $115,000 fully equipped, will commence scono time during tho next month. Tho site has not yet been located, however. Tho company Is negotiating for land on the Interurban railroad tracks on the west sldo of the city. Tho building will be two stories In height, but constructed on plans that will allow addition of several other lloois if necessary. The most modern plans will be adopted In tho building and tho equlppment will be of the lntest kind. When In operation more than 1C0 persons will bo employed 7C per jcent of theso being women. Arrangements have already been mndo for largo supplies of cotton from tho south and burlnp from Calcutta, Cal-cutta, India. Rates on railroads through j Utah, jldaho, Ncvnda nnd W')omlns hnve been secured', assuring assur-ing a largo distribution of tho output through theso states. Tho new company w'lt bo incorporated incorpo-rated (or $2.r0,000 of vhlch amount more than $200,000 has already been subscribed by local firms and business bus-iness men. |
