Tho Utah stoto pavilion at tho Panama Pacific Exposition was dedicated today, with hundreds of former Utahns gathered together to payhomngo to their mother state. Spencer, member of tho Utah commission to tho exposition; Prof. J. J. JlcCIollan and Willard E. Wcllio grouped around tho speaker's stand on tho portico of tho building. "Wo welcomo Utah into tho official family of tho exposition," said Frank L. Drown, ono of tho directors of tho exposition, In presenting to thu Utah commissioners a bronze, plaquo commemorative of tho state's participation. partic-ipation. "TIiIb magnificent building typifies and personifies tho splendid spirit of tho hardy pioneers who built tho groat stato of Utah. In making our appeal to tho sUter states of California, Califor-nia, Utah fought our fight in tho Rocky Mountain states." D. S. Spencer then read tho following follow-ing telegram from Govprnor William Spry: "My greetings to President Moore, Governor Johnson, Mayor Rolph and all thoso nssombled. I rogrot that I cannot bo present at this morning's dedication ceremonies, but I want to convey my sincere hopo that this colouration will further cement tho good feeling between California and Utah, and I hope that this great exposition ex-position will bo an ontlro success." Joseph E. Calno, secretary of tho Oakland Commercial club and a former for-mer Salt Lako man, aroused cheers from tho former Utahns present when ho extolled Utah and her industries in-dustries and resources. Mayor James Rolph Jr., of San Francisco conveyed tho wolcomo of tho people of this city to tho peoplo of Utah.
