Sho has had a great many offers of marriage, refusing re-fusing nil of them, hut Philip Brooks hor most persistent suitor, sho tells tho reason for theso rejections, explaining ex-plaining that sho Is a married woman wom-an and refusing to supply any other Information. At tho termination of Heleno'a story, Lord Traverse, tho guest of honor, Is announced, who proves to be nono other than Ralph Connol, formerly of tho Northwest mounted pollco. Tho hostess turns to Holeno nnd asks: "Miss Dearlng, have you over met Lord Traverse beforo?" Lord Travcrso smiles and roplles: "I believe I have mot my wifo before." And so tho story ends, while the guests reallzo they havo listened to tho beginning and actually witnessed tho end of a most unique romance. |
