Show 'Observance of Catholic Da al Fair San Diego, Sept. 11. A striking, lmpressivo parado followed by military mili-tary mass, will mark tho opening of the observance of Catholic Day at tho San Diego Exposition, Soptember 13. Thousands of Roman Catholics from Southern California and Arizona lmvo mado arrangements to bo present pres-ent to ob3crvo tho day. Tho Catholic clorgy will bo ropre-bented ropre-bented by nt least 25 members in their vestments, preceded by CO altar boys, In tho parado which will form just insldo the western entrance. Tho committee- of 22 will follow tho clorgy whllo at tho head of tho pu-rado pu-rado will march a squadron of cavalry caval-ry and a battalion of marines. Proceeding across El Puento Cabril-lo Cabril-lo and down tho Prado to tho great outdoor organ pavilion, tho clergy, with their altar boys, will mount tho platform whero will bo assembled a choir of 100 voices and tho military mass will follow. Bishop Thomas J. Conaty, of tho dloces of Southern California, Cal-ifornia, will conduct tho mass. A j squad from tho military will sound the buglo cnlls. Tho military mass will bo followed by tho largest picnic, in number of plcnlcers, over hold in tho stato when tho Cothollc crowds repair to tho Popper grove provided by tho Exposition Expo-sition for such functions and already famed throughout tho states whose delegations havo been entertained thcro. Athlotlc contests between various teams of many church nnd parish or- j ganlzatlons throughout California aro planned for competotlvo interest amng tho crowd.
