Show BILL PROVIDES LOW COAL RATES Logan Would Materially Bene-n Bene-n tit by Proposed Law MEASURES INTRODUCED IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE. A Saving of $1.07 and 77c qn Coal to Caqhe Points. According to bills- Introduced simultaneously sim-ultaneously In the Senato and tho House of the stato legislature, coal rates to all Utah points from Utah coal mines will bo reduced, In caso the bills aro enacted Into law, a very considerable con-siderable extent. Tho bills aro fathered fath-ered by PresIdctitJIonry Gardner and Representative -Kd ward J .Eardley. Tho rato provides for a chargo to Logan of $1.18. on slack and pea coal, and of $1.48 pejj ton on all other coal. This would mean a reduction of $1.07 on tho former nnd 77c on tho latter under tho present rates In forco. Tho bill further provides that If any coal has to go over' two or moro roads to reach It destinations an additional chargo of $2 per car may bo charged. Tho railroads must, also furnish cars and railroad facilities to all parties applying for tho samo. If these bills pass through tho session ses-sion there will be a very material do-creaso do-creaso in tho price of coal to residents of this city who will hall with delight tho prospects of getting tho cheapor fuel. |
