Mctween one and two o'clock Friday night, the bain of Thomas Tarbet, who resides on First North stieet near Second West, was destiojed by (lie. The building contained two hoises, u buggy, cutter, live sets of harness and a set of carpenter's tools, all of which were destioyed. Mrs. Taibet awakened during the night, about l::t0, and saw the blaze. She aroused her husband who ran to the lire depaitment bell tower and gave the alarm. The entire ham was enveloped In llamcs at this time and at the tiist arrival of neighbors It, was impossible to remove anything from the building. The Hie depaitment responded rather promptly for a night lire and was instrumental In saving the Tarbet residence which was distant dis-tant f i oin the barn but a few feet.
