Show THROWN FROM 0. S. L. TRAIN i Hyde Park Young Man Sustains Injuries Hyde Parkers Forget to Hold Election. Hvdk Pa uk, Nov. fW -A very serious seri-ous accident, and one that might have proved fatal, happened to young Alma Cook of tills place last evening as the beet train passed the Hyde Park station. Young Cook works with ttio Smlthllcld section hands. As the train left Smlthllcld he asked the brakeman for a ride to Hyde Park, but did noL go into the caboose. Just how ttie accident happened Is not known, and Alma can not tell. A short timu after the train passed -our station James Hanpey, Jr. and two other young men drove up the lane leading to town and .when a short distance dis-tance above the track they found Alma Cook lying In the road. They at once put him in the buggy and drove to town, and James Ilanccy, Jr. drove at once to Smlthllcld and brought tlowji Dr. Smith, who dressed the wounds, and did all possible for the patient's cornforB. Mr. Cook was insensible until six o'clock this morning, morn-ing, (low the accident happened, he is not yet able to explain, but says he did not Jump. Beet weigher Kosel Hydo was at the station and says the train was going very fast. It Is supposed that the engineer saw some cows that were picking up beets around the cars, and at once applied the brakes, and the sudden Jar threw the young man against the car, then pitched him hcad-tirst to the ground. There arc no utilises anywhere, only on the head. A deep gash over one eye had to be sewed up, and the right car Is badly bruised. The yodng man has the sympathy of the entire community, com-munity, who hope to soon sec him around again and all reel thankful that It was no worse than It is. The beet digging here will soon be over. The price potatoes are bringing bring-ing Just now, make mtiny of our farmers farm-ers wish they lad planted potatoes Instead of beets. One acre of potatoes netted Henry AsKcioft, over one hundred dollars. There will be no election of town olllccrs heie this year. For some cause, which no one seems able to explain, ex-plain, the matter has been neglected or overlooked, and there is no political politi-cal pot boiling hero. Killer Andrew Jensen, assistant I church historian, was In Hyde Park Friday evening and obtained a brief history of the various quorums and organizations of the ward. A dance was given the same evening even-ing in the hall, but was for some rea-sjn rea-sjn poorly attended. The Ballam orchestra or-chestra furnished the music.
