Show City council, 1 Moses Thatcher and others set forth E in a petition that the city street ex- 1 tending north and south on Logan I Island south of the City Park, on the I west side of the W. 15. Pieston land is 1 over-Mowed by water, and that during1 j the coming season of high water other 3 streets will be over-llowcd to the scrl-1 1 ous inconvenience of many citizens. 1 1 It Is stated that tliei" is an obstruc-' tlon in Logan river which causes thlsi undesirable state of alfaiis. Tho I petitioneis ask that the City remove this obstruction. On motion of Quaylc the matter was relTered to the committee on streets with power to act. Sam Glaser and Cy !?. Napper asked for liquor license and the same was granted. The committee on Public Grounds, i which lias been investigating the advisability ad-visability of opening a street from 1st North to 2nd North between Main and 1st West streets, reported that it would cost the city at least S150. Cache county wants a picket fence IS rods long, cost $54; .Joseph E. Car-don Car-don deeds 3 feet by 17 rods and asked the erection of a picket fence 18 rods, expense $.14. Tho lcmoval of fences, out-buildings, etc., would add another W0. The Committee recommended that the City should own the alley and uiged that the expense necessary be enteied into. On motion of Mr. Hatch this was aureed to with the exception that MrCardon is to pay half the expense ex-pense of the fence lie wants. The City Attorney reported In the .Joseph K. Wilson matter. It appeared appear-ed that Mr. Wilson bought a piece of land of the city 12 or 14 ycais ago and paid for the same, receiving a deed. The deed failed to describe the land properly and Mr. Wilson did not get the land, and later the city deeded the same to another person who did secure It. Mr. Wilson deeded his intciest in-tciest In the land to W. S. Lamreaux, , and now It appears that Mr. Wilson, has not settled with Mr. Lamreaux for what lie received for the land from him. Attorney Ivcoler was of the, opinion that the claim of either Wilson Wil-son or Lamreaux is baricd by limitation, limita-tion, but said the Council could waive I that if they so deshed. The council took the matter under advisement. j Two bids were received for the piece of City land j-outhof Ujeldsteds. Wm. Smith offered S107..10 and Geo. Woods $7f..r)0. The lirst was accepted on condition that the city be permit- I ted to tctn.it) two lods along the Logan Lo-gan river bank. |
