Pike, for nearly fifty years pastor of the Christian Church nt Newburyport, Mass., was well and favorably known. Onu Sunday evening even-ing when giving a tomporanco lecture In his church on Court street, Newburyport, New-buryport, ho referred to a low den In tho city, and denounced It In strong language.
