Show During all this hue and cry about this 12.8 mills tax and the light situation, tho voters do not want to forget that the city light plant is a splendid success, suc-cess, IS a lovenue producer, and worth a good per cent more than the original Investment of '100,000. For tho three months ending Oct. 1st, the revenue from the plant in excess of all expenses amounted to fc"00 each month, or about $0,000 a year. The expenses during these three months 1 include a great deal of extension work. Tho servioc the plant gives Is better far than the Hercules has been giving the past two or threo years, and tho price of lights at the present time is 20 cents, in comparison with tho 33J cuts charged by tho Hercules under normal conditions and "ft cents when they had the citizens at a dlsadvant- 1 age. Just remember these facts during dur-ing all the discussion that will ensue before November 7th, and remember also that there would havo been no light, and no extra tax of ti mills now I If certain strong sections of Dimo- I cracy had given tho city plant their I support. |
