Show At the last meeting of tho Hoard of Trustees of the II. Y. C, President Linford made the statement that It Is an impossibility to get rooming places for tho number of students that desire to attend that school. President Kerr of the A. C. of U. has also made this statement, and one of the great etlorts made beforo the last legislature was to secure an appropriation appro-priation for another dormitory on the hill. The statements Indicate that there is not a sulllclcnt number of residences in the city and should attract at-tract tho attention of men of means. These two schools arc growing rapidly In point of attendance, and Inasmuch as the money spent by the students In the course of a school year adds very materially to the business of the town, It seems strange that greater effort Is not made to provide for the students who can he Induced to come to tho city. Pres. Linford also makes the statement that from 10 to l.'i per cent, can be realized on an Investment In property at present. If this bo true, would It not be better to Invest money than to leave it idle In some banking Institution? These schools should bo tho pride of the valley and should receive from every person In tho valley all the encouragement and sup-IWU.'JJt sup-IWU.'JJt It Is In their power to give. |
