Not a very appropriate, not a very poetical story, perhaps, but hero It Is, anyhow: "Whistler ono summer set out with three or four young men on a walk through tho country of tho English Downs. Tho weather was flno and tho walking good; tho tourists had a pleasant time. "They stopped at an alehouso on a warm afternoon, and being all heated with tho sun they called for beer thirstily.
