Show Commercials at A, G The game of foot ball between the State University and tho Agricultural Agricul-tural College of Colorado, Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing Day, resulted In a score of 1(1 to ft In favor of t lie Colorado team. The Utah boys put up a strong game, but were too slow In getting Into proper shape. They showed up better in tho second half than In the first, but were unable to overcome their opponent's oppo-nent's load. The Colorado team defeated de-feated tho University of Wyoming a few weeks ago by a score of 1(1 to 0. Comparatively the A. C. of U. team Is the strongest, having defeated the University of Utah early In the season by a score of 17 to 0, and tho University Univer-sity of Wyoming last Saturday by a score of 4(1 to 0. The enrollment of the Commercial Department has already passed the hundred mark, and from present Indications In-dications the enrollment this year will be the largest since the creation of the business department at the A. C. ofU. Now that the business olltccs are In place the Junior Commercials have organized or-ganized themselves into different mercantile mer-cantile concerns doing business under the following titles: The Jenkins Co., Ltd., general Jobbers; Adams, Coburn & Co., department store; Frcderlckscn & McCausland, general commission merchants; Kerr & Rich, real estate, Insurance and loans; College Post Of-licc; Of-licc; Intercommunication Railroad Company; College Banking Company. The Commercial Club Is at last the proud possessor of an elegant silk Hag. The background of it is of bluo and white silk and upon a raised diagonal surface of red is the inscription: "School of Commerce." The "Phi Delta Nu" held its regular regu-lar meeting on Wednesday. W. II. Kerr gave an Interesting paper on "Current Events"; J. E. Barrack talked on the unlimited resources of our northern possession, Alaska; and J. L. Jenkins gave In detail the recent Alaskan Boundary dispute. Word has been received that Mr. Hamilton Wright, a last year commercial com-mercial student, has bctfn appointed to a lucrative position as a government govern-ment stenographer hi Idaho. Ills friends will be glad to hear of his good fortune. R. W. Jones, one of our former students, stu-dents, was a caller several days ago. There was no meeting of the Commercial Com-mercial Club Saturday on account of the Thanksgiving recess, but next Saturday at Hi.'U) the regular meeting will be held. Tho name of the speaker speak-er will be announced later. Mr. Geo. Hobson, who attended the Commercial School hi 1001--, but who Is now engaged In mining at Tusea-rora, Tusea-rora, Nov., was rencwlngold acquaintances acquaint-ances around the college last week. Max D. Colin, an old friend of this department, witnessed the football game last Saimday, and in the evening even-ing was present at the "hop." |
