The work was started about a year I' ago but owing to the crowded coudl-1 tlon of th'o steel market last summer the pipe was not received until late last fall and as tho frosty weather came on before It could all be Installed Install-ed tho Bystom could not be finally completed until this spring. The work has now been finished, the system tested out and officially received , from the contractors by the Mayor and City Council. Tho water Is secured irom Brig-ham Brig-ham spring about two and a half I miles from the mouth, of Wellsvllle ! canyon. An analysis of tho water! shows that It 1b ob pure as any mountain moun-tain water we have. Tho water Is transmitted down the canyon In pipes to the western part of the city nnd emptied Into a receiving reservoir, reser-voir, the capacity of which is about a quarter of a million gallons. This point Is about four and n Half miles from the point of diversion. Both the spring and the reservoir are covered in with concrete to avoid any possible possi-ble contamination of tho waters, which nro distributed over the city through thirteen mlle3 of mains. There nro 300 servlco pipes which connect nearly overy resldenco In the city with water. System Balanced Wellsvllle Is on a- slope but the system Is bo balanced that the pros-sure pros-sure throughout the town when working work-ing tlnough a full supply load, is about equal.
