Show FORTY BOYS ON TOURJL WORLD San Francisco, April 14 Forty athletic San Francisco boys, members of the Columblti Park Boys' Club left today on a Journey around tho world. Five other lads will bo selected from among the members of tho boys' clubs In eastern cities and under the leader ship of Major Sydney S. Fioxotto, founder of tho local organization tno party will envade Europo Asia and Australia. They will bo gone one year. Besides athletes the party Includes n full brass band. Tho boys rango in ago from 12 to 16 years. Tho boys wore guests Inst night nt a reception given by Major Holph and other city officials. In Sacramento they were received today by Governor Johnson after which they departed for Chicago where they will spend a week. Washington, Trenton, Newark, Boston Bos-ton and Now York will bo visited and May 7 departure will be made tor Liverpool and London. Paris, rtome, Naplos, Austrlla, China, tho Philippines, Philip-pines, Japan and tho Hawaiian Islands Isl-ands will be Included In tho Itinerary. Concerts will be given In all the cities visited and th0 athletes will compote with the boys of other cities in track and field events and In root-ball root-ball and baseball where these games are played. |
