Smith of Downey was placed In the hands of Sheriff Lowery yesterday, calling for the lmmcdlato arrest ot "Happy" Norman, n step dancer In ono of tho Salt Lake theaters. As a result, officials were called up by telephone In Salt Lako and asked to arrest Norman at once. He Is accused of highway robbery, It being alleged that he held up A. H. Smith, a ditch rider for the Port-neuf-Marsh Valley Irrigation company on one of the streets ot Downey on tho night of November 4, 1912. On thosamo evening the Consolidated Wagon and Machine store at Downey was burglarized of the sum or $500 and somo merchandise, and it Is thought that Norman and a pal did this Job. |
