"No strangers nllowed In here," said tho boy. "It Is a rule that no ono except employes can enter the building unless they havo appointment with Sir. Edison, and you can't seo him because he is homo sick." Tho Inventor asked to whom ho should go If ho wished to make appointment ap-pointment with Edison and the boy summoned Secretary Mea,dowcroft. "I've come to take up work left off by Mr. Edison. I want to know If you are desirous of employing a man who Is willing to work now an! then," snld the Inventor, ns he shook hands.
